3 Days Best of Ngorongoro Crater Tour

NGORONGORO CRATER

Day 1: Arusha/ Ngorongoro
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha to the crater rim where you will have your lunch, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Ngorongoro
After breakfast, taking a picnic lunches with you descend down to the crater floor for a full day of tracking game with your guide. The crater is 670m deep and 260km square wide, making it the largest in the world. The crater contains all the big five, hippos, cheetah, antelopes and spotted hyena. Black rhino and leopard can be seen by luck as the two are extremely shy and elusive. The birds seen here include eagle, vulture, and flamingos in the Crater Lake, stork, bats, giant vulture, sacred ibis, kori bustard, black smith plover, long necked heron and the cattle eagle. Other game such as velvet monkey, jackal, foxes, rock and tree hyraxes, warthog, gnu, zebra and hare can be seen with relative ease. You will have a break for lunch at the Ngoitoktok springs picnic site. In the evening you will ascend up and out of the narrow and steep crater walls, which is a thrilling exercise. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 3: Ngorongoro/ Arusha
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha for lunch, bypassing maize and coffee plantations in the crater’s immediate environs.

TANZANIA NATIONAL PARKS (TANAPA) CONDUCTED ITS MEETING WITH CONSERVATION STAKEHOLDERS

Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) has successful conducted its meeting with conservation stakeholders to chat out the best ways to yield positive results in the conservation efforts.
“The aim of these meetings is to assess the relationship between TANAPA and people living around and also find solutions to the challenges facing conservation activities in the national parks.” Said Mr. Allan Kijazi, Director General – TANAPA.
He described various challenges in conservation activities as poaching, encroachment, land conflicts, destruction of animal corridors as well as poor involvement of local people in investment opportunities available in tourism industry.
The meetings were held in three zones; Kilimanjaro, Mwanza and Morogoro wherby Regional Commissioners, District Commissioners, Executive Directors and members of parliament from all areas that border national parks participated.
The Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Evarist Ndakilo urged the members to make sure they come up with correct and workable solutions to challenges raised and that their political will is highly needed in curbing conservation challenges.
Member of Parliament for Busega, Hon. Dr. Titus Kamani advised TANAPA to run hotel businesses or acquire shares in companies conducting the hospitality business in the park in order to have other sources of income as it needs money to manage its national parks.

MISS TOURISM TANZANIA 2012/13, POSTPONED TO 30-3-2013

National finals of Miss Tourism Tanzania Tournament 2012/13, which are to be held on 17 March  2013 in the palace of Dar Live Dar es Salaam, have postponed to  30th of March, 2013, the venue will be announced later.

 
Speaking to reporters in Dar es Salaam, President of competition in the African continent Erastus G. Chipungahelo, said that the reasons for the postponement of the final include budget shortfalls caused by some sponsors bosses who fail to fulfill their commitments as they promised, leading to a decrease of more than 170,000,000/= Tshs, between  870,000,000/= Tshs budget  required to complete the final tournament.

 
"To make this competition excellence and of the international level, we need not less than Shs 870 million, of which up to now we have managed to get a total of Shs 600 million, and we miss the total of Shs 170 million, which is caused by some of the trustees fail to fulfill their commitments due to various commercial problems they face. This competition as it is in other competitions and the World rely on sponsorship from the private and public sectors, as the costs of budget for preparing these competitions are great that can not be paid or compensated for entries depending at the gates ".

This situation has forced us to postpone finals 30-3-2013, to find time to get the same amount of money and complete preparations so as to make it of the quality and international standards.
 
Procedures to get money close to completion before the date of the competition from the tourism stakeholders in the private and public sectors are about to be done.
 
Camp participants continues at Ikondelelo Lodge hotel in Dar es Salaam, where from Tuesday on 19-3-2013, all participants  accompanied by the reporters, they will began a tour of one week in Mikumi, Udzungwa and Saadani National Park.
 
 In Udzungwa, the participants will be climbing mountains of Udzungwa to the top of Nsanje Waterfalls which is the major attraction in the park.

SERENGETI AND KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK WIN SEVEN NATURAL WONDERS OF AFRICA AWARDS

Serengeti and Kilimanjaro National Parks have won the recently contested 2012 Seven Natural Wonders of Africa Awards. The contest was conducted by the founders of the Seven Natural Wonders based in the United States of America. Famed for its annual wildebeest migration and as a Roof Top of Africa respectively, exhilarating news about the inclusion of Serengeti and Kilimanjaro in to the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa were announced at a colorful ceremony held in the vicinity of Arusha City-The Geneva of Africa. Things went really well in favour of Destination Tanzania when Ngorongoro was also announced a winner in this contest making Tanzania proudly stand as a winner of three among the seven contested Natural Wonders.
